The new app brings independent equestrian retailers together in one place while allowing each business to retain its own identity and online operation.

A new mobile app is giving horse enthusiasts a different way to discover equestrian retailers. EquiMall brings a growing collection of independent shops together in one destination, inspired by the shopping villages found at major equestrian events.

The aim is to make it easier for shoppers to browse across retailers and discover products they might not have found by visiting a single shop.

“There are some fantastic independent businesses within the equestrian industry, but getting in front of new customers online can be difficult and increasingly expensive,” an EquiMall spokesperson said.

“Our thinking was that there is strength in bringing those businesses together while allowing each of them to remain completely independent. We've simply put the doors to those shops together in one digital shopping village."

For customers, EquiMall offers one equestrian-focused app from which they can move between multiple independent stores. They can use Smart Search to explore products across participating retailers, compare items and bookmark favourites. Featured products, new arrivals, seasonal collections and sale lines can also appear in pop-up stalls within the app.

For participating retailers, a presence in EquiMall sits alongside their existing ecommerce operation rather than replacing it. Each business retains its own identity, website, stock, customer accounts and checkout, while having a place within the shared shopping destination.

The longer-term aim is to build a diverse shopping destination covering a broad range of equestrian retail categories while maintaining the individuality of the businesses within it.

“We don’t want every retailer in EquiMall to look the same,” an EquiMall spokesperson said. “Quite the opposite. The individual character, expertise and identity of each business is part of what makes an equestrian shopping village interesting. EquiMall simply brings those businesses together and makes it easier for riders to discover them.”

The concept reflects a familiar experience for many equestrian shoppers: browsing trade stands at a major show, visiting retailers they already know and coming across something new along the way. EquiMall aims to recreate some of that sense of discovery on a phone.

EquiMall is available on mobile, with further independent equestrian retailers due to join the shopping village as the platform continues to grow.
