The FEI oversees around 70 Rankings and Standings across all the disciplines, from World Rankings calculated on a monthly basis for Athletes, Horses and/or Combinations, to league, team and regional based standings for Series such as the Longines League of Nations™, FEI World Cup™ and FEI Nations Cup™, as well as a variety of youth categories, among others.
You will find below a snapshot of the main movers and shakers for the month of September 2025 in the senior World Rankings, as well as a special spotlight on the Longines Rankings for this month’s special “Ranking Spotlight”.
Longines Rankings: Kent Farrington widens his lead
Kent Farrington (USA) remains as world number one four months after reaching the top spot, with a tally of 3,436 points, followed by Great Britain’s Ben Maher, who is now 332 points behind Farrington. Christian Kukuk (GER) maintains his third spot with 2,950 points. Richard Vogel (GER) ascends to fourth, on 2,884 points, while Great Britain’s Scott Brash climbs two spots and closes the top five with 2,804 points.
Gilles Thomas (BEL – 2,734 points) is now sixth after climbing 13 positions, followed by McLain Ward (USA – 2,697 points), who has climbed one spot in the last month. Steve Guerdat (SUI) drops to eighth with 2,680 points, while Ireland’s Darragh Kenny is now ninth on 2,674 points. Harrie Smolders (NED) closes the top 10 with a tally of 2,647 points.
Longines League of Nations™ Ranking: USA's dominance continues
For the eighth consecutive month, USA (14,728 points) maintains its position as leader of the Longines League of Nations™ ranking. Ireland (14,120 points) remains just behind in second place, but a bit closer than last month with 608 points between them. France (13,536 points) remains third, while Belgium (13,479 points) has surpassed Germany (13,463 points), which are in fourth and fifth places, respectively.
Great Britain (13,051 points) and Netherlands (11,725 points) remain sixth and seventh, while Italy (10,564 points) has climbed to eighth after surpassing Switzerland (10,324 points). The last qualifying spot is still for Brazil (9,597 points) and its most immediate threat is now Canada (8,402 points), which has surpassed Sweden, now 12th on 8,080 points.
FEI Dressage World Ranking – Athletes: Justin Verboomen, new world number one
Justin Verboomen (BEL – 1,925 points) is completing a fantastic season and, after winning two gold medals at the FEI Dressage European Championship 2025 in Crozet (FRA), Verboomen is now at the top of the world ranking for the first time in his career. Former number one, Charlotte Fry (GBR) is now second, with 1,894 points, followed by Isabell Werth (GER – 1,867 points). Becky Moody (GBR – 1,819 points) retains her fourth spot, while Denmark’s Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour is back at the top 5 with 1,784 points.
FEI Dressage World Ranking - Horses: Zonik Plus gets to the top
The 9-year-old black stallion, and double European Champion, Zonik Plus, is the new leader of the Horses’ ranking, with 1,925 points. Charlotte Fry’s 14-year-old black stallion Glamourdale is now second with 1,894 points, closely followed by Jagerbomb (1,819 points). DSP Quantaz maintains the fourth position (1,686 points), followed by Bluetooth OLD, who has climbed to fifth on 1,640 points.
FEI Eventing World Athlete Ranking: Harry Meade, solid leader
No changes in the top five of the FEI Eventing rankings. Harry Meade (GBR) repeats for fourth consecutive month at the top with 588 points. Rosalind Canter (GBR - 550 points) is second, followed by New Zealand’s Tim Price in third - 75 points behind Canter. USA’s Boyd Martin is fourth with 452 points, ahead of Great Britain’s Tom McEwen, who maintains his fifth place with 408 points.
FEI Driving World Ranking - Four-in-Hand / Pairs / Singles: No changes among the leaders
The top positions in the FEI Driving World Rankings Four-in-Hand, Pairs and Singles remain unchanged. In the Four-in-Hand division, reigning World Champion Boyd Exell (AUS) continues to dominate with 201 points. In the Singles category, Marion Vignaud (FRA – 90 points) retains her leadership, while Stan van Eijk (NED – 147 points) remains at the top of the Pairs category.
FEI Endurance Riders and Trainer World Rankings: Melody Theolissat, new number one
France’s Melody Theolissat is the new number one of the FEI Endurance Riders World Ranking with 1,191 points. Her compatriot and former leader Virginie Atger is now second on 1,173 points, followed by Lea Vandekerckhove (FRA) with 1,100 points, making it a fully French top three.
In the Endurance Trainers' World Ranking, Mohammed Ahmad Ali Al Subosi (UAE – 1,306 points) remains the world number one followed by France’s Melody Theolissat (1,220 points) and Angel Lazes (1,104 points).
FEI Para Dressage World Individual, Team & U18 Ranking: no changes at the top
Team USA are leading the way in the senior Para Dressage Rankings: Fiona Howard (2,174 points) and Team USA (1,369 points) maintain the top spot in both Individual and Team rankings. Sara Morganti (ITA) and Rixt van der Horst (NED) remain second and third with 2,111 and 2,104 points respectively. Netherlands (1,362 points) and Italy (1,328 points) are second and third respectively in the Team ranking. Ireland’s Katie Reilly (1,272 points) leads the FEI Para Dressage U18 World Individual Ranking, followed by Clodagh Walsh (IRL), second with 1,157 points, and Elan Williams (GBR), third on 1,071 points.
Ranking Spotlight: Gilles Thomas climbs 13 positions in the Longines Rankings
Belgium’s Gilles Thomas has had a fantastic month competing all over the old continent. Thomas has completed consistent performances across Netherlands, Great Britain and France, including a victory at the CSI5* in London, along his partner Luna van het Dennehof. Thanks to these results, the Belgian has climbed from 19th to sixth in the Longines Rankings, with a tally of 2,734 points.
