Dancing Horse Farm, Lebanon, Ohio - Dressage an...

Dancing Horse Farm is not just a boarding and training facility. It is a year-round educational experience celebrating the joy of horses, the fun of learning, and the camaraderie of the DHF community. Dancing Horse Farm is an exceptional full-care horse boarding, training, and lesson facility located in Lebanon, Ohio. DHF is designed to meet every horse owner’s expectations. If you would like to board and/or train at one of Southern Ohio’s premier equestrian facilities, you’ve come to the right place. Welcome! DHF President and Head Trainer, Jen Truett, won her Gold Medal on Lafayette HQ, a lovely Hanoverian gelding she bought for $1 - one US Dollar - because he'd broken his back leg, resulting in his left side muscles becoming atrophied and his left hind leg stride shortening tremendously. He was in terrible pain and had become violent, yet he showed a willingness to try that touched Jen's heart. Thanks to biomechanic riding and training, combined with chiropractic and body work, "Taffy" went from being a violent cripple due to be put down if Jen wouldn't take him, to the sweet, wonderful Grand Prix horse he is today, with a remarkable heart-to-heart connection with Jen. Jen's biomechanics training began with the Ride With Your Mind (TM) training system created by Mary Wanless. Jen is certified as a RWYM Level 2 Affiliated Coach (one of only the first accredited RWYM coaches in the USA) and a USDF Certified Instructor through 2nd Level. She has continued her education with the help of clinicians like Dr. Gerd Heuschmann, David de Wispeleare, and her coaches, George Williams and Sue Madden Mandes. Due to these various coaching modalities, Jen is able to combine the learning and teaching theories of RWYM and traditional classical dressage in a way that helps the horse and rider understand and excel in the sport of dressage. Jen Truett's emphasis is on education. She has a Working Student and Apprentice program in which she passes on her knowledge to new generations of trainers and riders. The clinics she teaches in various locations spread her methods. One rider reported she has come up three levels since riding with Jen, after years spent in Training Level. Many other riders have had similar experiences after applying Jen's methods to their riding. The result is Jen's goal: Happy horses and happy riders! Jen often has people come for intensive training sessions, where they'll stay for three days, two weeks, a month or more, with or without their horses (we have excellent school horses), taking daily lessons, or sometimes two per day if they brought two horses, and sitting in while Jen teaches other students, which is a great way to reinforce what they've learned in their own lessons. We've had clients from all over the US as well as Canada, England and Germany enjoy our facilities and training methods. DHF has large stalls, 40 acres with lots of pastures, a 1/2 mile oval race track that's great for practicing tempis, which also has cross-country fences around it. Our indoor is large enough to house a full-size dressage arena, and we have an oversize outdoor as well as a standard small dressage arena. All of our footing is excellent. We have frequent clinics with internationally renowned clinicians like Mary Wanless, Gerd Heuschmann and David de Wispeleare.
