Here at the Hughes Horse Stud we are continuing the work and vision or the late Seamus Hughes who was passionate about the horses that he bred and produced. Seamus had great foresight and established a breeding programme in Ireland that was well ahead of its time. Our horses descend from quality bloodlines and we compete them at the highest National and International levels. Marion Hughes & Miguel Maria Bravo Ireland The Hughes Horse Stud is our long established breeding Stud operation in Co Kilkenny Ireland. All our breeding mares and young stock are based in Graigue, Cuffesgrange. As they are broken and start competing they then move freely between Ireland and Portugal, taking in other continental competitions during transit between our two bases. We have Indoor and outdoor arena's a cross country course and 40 stables on the Stud. We are able to take students for training at most times during the year. We have developed this farm into a successful training centre. All our young horses base in Portugal during the winter months to gain valuable education for the coming European season. They compete in the two showjumping tours Comporta and Vilamoura during their stay in Portugal We also organize shows throughout the year. These are held on a well kept grass arena. As well as our shows we also provide showjumping clincs all year round. There are 20 permanent stables on site, and we also provide temporary stables if required during busy periods.
