James Hall - Patterson Dip WCF Farriery

My name is James Hall-Patterson. I qualified as a farrier in the summer of 2009. I studied just under five years at Warwickshire College (Moreton Morrell) as part of my apprenticeship. Horses have always figured as a huge part of my life as I have been around them for as long as I can remember. I was lucky enough to loan my first pony at 10 years old. Gypsy was a little black Welsh type, cheeky as they come and I learnt to ride and drive with him. From there I have had several other horses with which I played Horseball and did the odd days hunting. However I now spend more time under horses than on top! Since setting up on my own I have become particularly interested in the remedial side of farriery and working alongside vets. Also I Help out with Cartmel Racecourse on the race days as the on site farrier. I have experienced an enormous sense of achievement in making horses with problems right again.
