UK Stud farm breeding World Class dressage horses - Giving Young Horses the Best Start in Life. We want to breed our clients their dream horse. Core to Larkshill Stud’s ethos is that horses should be allowed to be horses and do what nature intended - grazing 24 hours a day if they choose and galloping and playing in the fields. Studies have shown that this “natural” exercise is essential to strengthen the young horses’ tendons and young muscles. For this reason, our horses live as a herd and live out all year round, with free access to big barns in the winter - coming and going as they please. The foals benefit from being brought up in a herd as they learn all the necessary social skills from the older horses. We nurture our little stars ensuring they have the very best start in life. They receive the best veterinary attention, feed, are vaccinated, wormed and have their hooves trimmed regularly. They are handled everyday and we keep numbers low so each horse can have the attention they deserve. We make all new experiences fun for them - the end result is well behaved loveable young horses that are eager to work. Our broodmares carry the bloodlines of the some of the world’s leading dressage stallions.
