For many years father Rob Eras competed in the Dutch jumping team and was competitor at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal with the horse Ivan F. Sidney Eras (13-5-1992) knew at an early age that he wanted to be in the horses business. For four years he trained with Olympic silver medallist Albert Voorn in his pony time, after which former Grand Prix rider Joan Laarakkers-Scharffenberger coached him and learned the tricks of the trade from his father, from whom he inherited not only the love for horses but also his perfectionism.
