Training is available at LMBequestrian by head trainer Lauren Baggett. She has developed a unique set of skills through her 20 years of riding that help her take on a variety of horse types. Along with her classical dressage training, she is well educated in natural horsemanship and uses it to start young horses and to address behavioral issues before the actual dressage training begins.
Lauren grew up riding at the prestigious Holsteiner breeding farm, Freedom Hill Farms, in Desoto, KS. She was fortunate to be well-horsed from the young age of 10 and to ride with USDF Gold medalist, Rebecca Rigdon.
In addition to her dressage training, she was an active member of pony club through her high school years. Eventually, she was able to travel to Wellington, Florida as a working student for several seasons working with trainers Ryan Yap and her lifelong dressage mentor, Heather Blitz. While there, Lauren competed in Young Riders and Prix St. Georges on her FEI horse, Wernon.
After high school, Lauren began training out of her parent's farm in Lawrence, Kansas. As a new rider in the area, she received a variety of horses of all ages, sizes, breeds, and disciplines to work with. She has always had a passion for the quirky or the misunderstood horses. It was at this time that her journey with natural horsemanship and cross-training her horses for jumping and eventing began.
In winter of 2011, Lauren took a string of training horses to Louisiana's internationally renown Danish Warmblood breeding farm, Oak Hill Ranch. She interned with the head young horse trainer, Regina Miliken, as well as nationally recognized cowboy, Bruce Eaglesfield. She honed her skills of developing the young dressage horse, stallion riding and handling, and expanded her knowledge of natural horsemanship and "problem horse" training.
Lauren has a special place in her heart for the misunderstood or "problem" horses of the world and is always willing to offer her knowledge and skills to help owners build a safer, more submissive, more positive relationship with their challenging horses, no matter what the issue or specific riding discipline of the horse.
With her main focus in dressage and developing the young dressage athlete, she also maintains that her farm and training program encourages horses and riders to be multi-talented. Above all, her goal is a safe, well-muscled, balanced, and happy horse.
