GS Umaro is a son of Utamaro d'Ecaussines Z who performed at the highest level with Joe Clee and William Whitaker. Utamaro d'Ecaussines Z represented Great Britain at the World Equestrian Games and his breeding duties were put on hold until he retired and moved to Zangersheide to become one of their resident stallions with his first offspring being born in 2022. 

The dam of GS Umaro, Jinta vd Bisschop, has already given a 1.45m performer and has 3 offspring jumping at 1.40m level. Jinta vd Bisschop herself is the sister of Nicola Philippaerts Moya vd Bisschop (1.60m), Lukaku vd Bisschop (1.60m, Harry Allen) and H5 Ozzy vd Bisschop who also performs at 1.60m level. As is that wasn't enough the family of GS Umaro is packed full of top stallions who also performed at 1.60m including Action Breaker, sire of Point Break, Quasimodo vd Molendreef, the sire of Hello Sanctos and Mosito van het Hellehof, the highest ranked stallion of his age according to Hippomundo.
