BETWEEN FIRST THRILLS AND TOP-LEVEL SPORT

On the Emerald Coast, the greatest champions feel right at home. Every summer, the world’s top riders gather on the legendary grass arena of Val Porée for one of the most iconic events on the international calendar: the Jumping International de Dinard. Yet behind the stars of the CSI5*, the Breton event is also about first major thrills, rising ambitions and high-level dreams.

From July 30th to August 2nd, the CSI1* will hold a special place, offering many riders the opportunity to compete in the unique atmosphere of Val Porée. On this legendary arena, ambitious amateurs and professional riders alike come to fully immerse themselves in the Jumping International de Dinard experience.

Because in Dinard, the magic begins the moment you step onto the grounds. Packed grandstands, a unique and welcoming atmosphere, and above all, the historic grass arena leave a lasting impression on every rider fortunate enough to compete on it. It is precisely this blend of top-level sport, closeness and conviviality that makes the Breton event so unique, giving rise each year to remarkable sporting stories — some of which leave a particularly lasting mark.

In 2025, Zoé Vageon Ledy’s victory in the CSI1* – Grand Prix Laiterie de Montaigu at 1.40m is the perfect illustration. Partnered with her mare Arkana Messipierre, with whom she had just been crowned French Junior Champion, the young rider delivered a stunning performance, treating the crowd to the French national anthem and, above all, a memorable prize-giving ceremony. “I remember it as if it were yesterday,” recalls the 16-year-old rider. “It was my first 1.40m class with my mare, especially on such a technical arena, so winning it was quite unexpected. The victory itself was incredible, but what really stayed with me was the atmosphere during the prize-giving ceremony and the lap of honour. The entire crowd was cheering for me — I even spotted Richard Vogel in the stands! It was an amazing moment. I can’t wait for the 2026 edition, where I’ll once again compete in the CSI1* with Arkana.”

In an atmosphere worthy of the sport’s greatest occasions, the young French rider seized her moment, reminding everyone just how unforgettable these classes can be for those who experience them.

Over four days of competition, several CSI1* classes will be held, ranging from 1.10m to 1.40m.

As for the CSI5* classes, all eyes will once again be on the world’s leading horse-and-rider combinations. Just a few weeks before the World Championships in Aachen (GER, August 17–23), Dinard will serve as a key stepping stone for many selected riders, who will come to fine-tune their preparation in conditions similar to those of the sport’s biggest championships.
