The Longines Global Champions Tour is delighted to announce a landmark multi-year extension that will see the world’s premier show jumping series remain at the Royal Hospital Chelsea until 2037.
Since moving to Royal Hospital Chelsea in the heart of the capital in 2017, the London stage has become one of the most prestigious stops on the LGCT and GCL calendar. Alongside the world-famous RHS Chelsea Flower Show, the venue is home to many internationally acclaimed events that celebrate heritage, excellence, and community spirit against the historic backdrop of Sir Christopher Wren’s Royal Hospital – home of the iconic Chelsea Pensioners.
Each summer, thousands of spectators, riders, owners, and partners gather to witness the very best of show jumping in London. In 2025, more than 13,000 people attended, underlining its rapid growth and its status as a highlight of both the sporting and social calendars.
The extension through 2030 reflects the strong partnership between Global Champions and the Royal Hospital Chelsea, as well as outstanding support from fans, the equestrian community, and London itself. Beyond the arena, the event delivers a significant boost to the local economy, with businesses such as hotels, restaurants, catering providers, transport operators, and security services all benefiting from the influx of visitors.
At the heart of the event are the Chelsea Pensioners, whose involvement brings a sense of tradition and pride that resonates with athletes and spectators alike. Their presence contributes to an atmosphere that is widely recognised as one of the most distinctive and memorable on the global circuit.
Jan Tops, President and Founder of Global Champions, said: "We are thrilled to confirm this long-term commitment to London and the Royal Hospital Chelsea. Since we moved to this venue in 2017, London has become one of the most cherished stages on our calendar. The setting is spectacular, the fans are passionate, and the involvement of the Chelsea Pensioners makes this event truly unique in the world of sport. Our partnership with the Royal Hospital has allowed us to deliver unforgettable moments, and we look forward to building on this success together through to 2037."
General Sir Adrian Bradshaw, Governor of The Royal Hospital Chelsea, said: "The Royal Hospital Chelsea has stood as a symbol of service and care for more than three centuries, and we remain committed to preserving both the heritage of our estate and a strong community for the Chelsea Pensioners who live here. Extending our agreement with the Longines Global Champions Tour until 2037 not only demonstrates our valued partnership but also reflects our responsibility as stewards of this historic site, ensuring it continues to host events of the highest calibre in a way that honours our traditions and supports our charitable purpose to care for old soldiers - both now and for generations to come."
The Longines Global Champions Tour of London not only showcases the finest riders and horses competing for Championship points but also shines a spotlight on London as a global sporting hub. By bringing international equestrian sport into the very centre of the city, the event connects with fans of all ages, promotes the bond between horse and rider, and creates opportunities for cultural exchange.
With its future now secured, the London stage of the Longines Global Champions Tour is set to deliver even greater sporting theatre, fan experiences, and community impact in the years to come – standing proudly alongside the RHS Chelsea Flower Show as one of the capital’s great traditions at Royal Hospital Chelsea.
The 2026 Longines Global Champions Tour of London will take place from 7–9 August 2026 at Royal Hospital Chelsea.
