Nicole Barraud-Estoppey appointed FEI Director, Communications

A Swiss national, Nicole Barraud-Estoppey brings extensive experience in strategic communications, public affairs, crisis management and corporate reputation, having held senior global communications roles across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sectors. Most recently, she served as Head of Global Communications for Cereal Partners Worldwide, the joint venture between Nestlé and General Mills.

She holds a Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Lausanne.

Alongside her professional career, Nicole Barraud-Estoppey has maintained a lifelong passion for equestrian sport. An amateur rider since childhood, she later became a breeder of an endangered horse breed and has been actively involved in the sport for many years as a volunteer at international events, as a member of organising committees, and as a contributor to several equine welfare-related initiatives. This unique combination of strategic communications expertise and practical equestrian experience has given her a deep understanding of the operational, ethical and governance aspects of equestrian sport.

"We are delighted to welcome Nicole Barraud-Estoppey to the FEI," FEI Secretary General Sabrina Ibáñez said.

"She combines extensive international communications experience with a genuine passion for equestrian sport and a thorough understanding of our community. Her strategic expertise, leadership and commitment to excellence will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen the FEI's communications and engagement with our global stakeholders. We look forward to the contribution she will make to the organisation and wish her every success in her new role."

Nicole Barraud-Estoppey will join the FEI on 3 August 2026, reporting to François Vergnol, FEI Executive Director, Commercial, Marketing & Communications, and will be part of the FEI delegation attending the FEI World Championships Aachen 2026.
