As it has every year for nearly 115 years, Dinard will once again come alive to the rhythm of top-level sport.
THE JUMPING FOR HIGH-LEVEL SPORT INTERNATIONAL DE DINARD, A CONVERGENCE POINT
A historic competition on the international stage, the Jumping International de Dinard, whose organization was taken over by the Mars family in 2013, will bring together Olympic champions and top-ranked riders for what they describe as “a standout event on the calendar”.
Each year, the grass arena at Val Porée stands out as a stage for top-level competition, drawing the greatest legends of show jumping. Among them are Swiss rider Martin Fuchs, a two-time winner of the Rolex Grand Prix, and his compatriot Steve Guerdat; Germans Christian Ahlmann and Daniel Deusser; Belgians Grégory Wathelet and Jérôme Guery; as well as the British duo Scott Brash and Ben Maher, and American rider McLain Ward.
On the French side, Julien Épaillard, Kévin Staut, Roger-Yves Bost, Nicolas Delmotte, and Mégane Moissonnier are also among the event's most loyal regulars, having made it their home turf over the years.
Driven by an exceptional field of competitors, the Jumping International de Dinard, part of the Rolex Series circuit, reaffirms year after year its status as an must-attend event where every rider dreams of etching their name into the record books.
Beyond the competition, the Jumping International de Dinard cultivates a unique identity edition after edition. Nestled in the heart of the Emerald Coast, it strikes the perfect balance between demands of top-level sport and a warm, relaxed atmosphere, a combination deeply valued by its loyal followers, whether riders or spectators.
A STRATEGIC MEETING AS THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS APPROACH
Just a few weeks ahead of the World Championships in Aachen, Germany, the Jumping International de Dinard will take on an even greater significance. For many riders, it will serve as one of the final major international events before the world titles, offering conditions quite similar to those of the championships, thanks to the large crowds and, above all, the grass arena.
From last-minute adjustments to checking the horses' fitness, every minor detail will be scrutinized, especially by national selectors such as Edouard Coupérie for the French team. "Wewill announce the selection just a few days before the Jumping International de Dinard, and the same will apply to all nations, as World Championship entries close on Monday, July 27. Therefore, the competition will not influence the selectors' choices; however, it will provide an opportunity for the pairs to fine-tune their preparations one last time under similar conditions, both in terms of the arena layout and the atmosphere. Dinard is a magnificent competition that riders are always keen to attend. This year, it will be the only CSI5* on that week, making it an even more important stepping stone for the selected riders."
This proximity to the World Championships promises an edition with even higher stakes, where every round will be a crucial step on the road to Aachen. "If all goes well, Dinard should be part of my programme," says Nina Mallevaey, currently world number 6 and the top-ranked woman in the FEI standings, who finished second in the 2025 Rolex Grand Prix of the City of Dinard. "It’s a unique competition, with a magnificent grass arena and a fantastic atmosphere. Being in France, with such a passionate crowd, makes it even more special for me as a French rider. With the Championships approaching, these kinds of terrain and conditions are obviously very valuable for preparation, especially with the level of competition being, as always, incredibly high."
TEMPS FORTS
Several highlights will set the pace for the weekend, starting with the CSI YH classes, which, in Brittany - a land of horses and equestrian enthusiasts, will be particularly closely watched.
The always-anticipated Derby de Bretagne, won by Germany’s Sophie Hinners in 2025, will also stand out as one of the highlights of the four-day competition.
As the grand finale, the Rolex Grand Prix of Dinard, a 1.60m class with a €500,000 prize purse, will once again be the most coveted prize for the riders. In 2025, the American national anthemnrang out across the arena following the victory of Aaron Vale and Carissimo 25.
