LONGINES GLOBAL CHAMPIONS TOUR - LONGINES PARIS EIFFEL JUMPING 2025
In just one week's time, from June 20 to 22, the Longines Global Champions Tour - Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping will return to its legendary setting on the Champ-de-Mars, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. For 3 days, the world's best riders and horses will battle it out on the Parisian track, for a show as unique as it is majestic.
With its 10th edition in 2024, the Longines Global Champions Tour - Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping is starting a new decade in the best possible way. After a forced relocation to the Plaine de Jeux de Bagatelle, the competition has returned to the heart of Paris, to the delight of riders and its founder, Virginie Coupérie-Eiffel. Supporting the 7th leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour circuit, this year's Paris leg once again welcomes the world's best, with 8 of the world's top 20 riders, Olympic medallists and former winners of the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix de la ville de Paris. Among them, the current world No. 1, American Kent Farrigton, and his compatriots Mclain Ward (No. 5), Jessica Springsteen and Spencer Smith. Germany will be
fielding 2 of its tenors with Marcus Ehning and Christian Ahlmann, the only two-time winner of the LGCT - Grand Prix de la ville de Paris (2019 and 2020). Sweden's Henrik von Eckermann (no. 3), who relinquished his world no. 1 armband a few weeks ago after 2 1/2 years at the top, will also be in the field, as will Austria's Max Kühner (no. 14) and Brazil's Marlon Modolo Zanotelli, winner of the premier event in 2022.
Belgium will be one of the most represented nations in the CSI5* with no fewer than 8 starters. Nicola and Olivier Philippaerts, Wilm Vermeir, Pieter Devos, Gilles Thomas, Jérôme Guéry, Abdel Saïd and Koen Vereecke will all be trying to make the Brabant resound in the French capital. Winner of the Madrid leg a few weeks ago, the now very regular Greek rider Ioli Mytilineou will also be defending her colors in Paris, as will Luxembourg's Victor Bettendorf.
FRANCE WELL REPRESENTED
The French delegation will also be well-stocked. Julien Épaillard (n°12) and Simon Delestre (n°11), both members of last summer's bronze medal-winning team in Versailles, will be present. Roger-Yves Bost, a crowd favorite who raises the applause meter every time he enters the ring, will be there, as will Pénélope Leprévost, ambassador of the 2023 edition, Cédric Hurel and his fantastic Fantasio Floreval Z, and Philippe Rozier. The pillars of the French team will have to face up to a young generation determined to make its mark at the highest level. Inès Joly, winner of the Monaco leg in 2024, will be treading the Paris track for the first time. She will be joined by Antoine Ermann, who is in fine form at the moment.
GCL
In the GCL, 17 teams will be competing. At the top of this season's provisional rankings, the Shanghai Swans will be looking to maintain their lead, but are closely followed by the 100% women's team Cannes Stars powered by Iron Dames, with a gap of just 2 points. Winners in Paris in 2024, the Doha Falcons represented by Wilm Vermeir and Jérôme Guéry will, no doubt, be keen to repeat.
In addition to the CSI5* riders, experienced amateurs and professionals will be competing in the CSI1*. In the evening, once the competition is over, the track of the Longines Global Champions Tour - Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping will be transformed into a show stage with the presence of equestrian artist Santi Serra, on Friday June 20 and Saturday June 21.
