FIVE-STAR SEASON IS UNDERWAY
The international five-star eventing season is well underway, with standout competition already taking place at the Adelaide Equestrian Festival and most recently the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event. Will Coleman secured victory in the US with CCI5* debutante Diabolo, claiming his first win at this level.
A special mention goes to two Defender Burghley regulars for their standout performances in Kentucky.
David Doel and Galileo Nieuwmoed (3rd) – former Burghley runners-up, delivering a faultless double clear and the only combination to finish on their dressage score.
Tim Price and Vitali (4th) – two-time Burghley podium finishers, producing a clear showjumping round to secure fourth place.
Next up is the MARS Badminton Horse Trials (6–10 May 2026), confirmed with a line-up of world-class entries including defending Badminton and Burghley Champion Ros Canter and Lordships Graffalo, world number one Harry Meade, and former Burghley Champion Oliver Townend. It’s all to play for, who will take the next CCI5* victory?
